The story of Selangor Properties is a remarkable narrative of achievement across two generations of the Wen family who took the company from modest beginnings to its place today as a highly respected property development and investment corporation.

It was in 1954 that the founders of Selangor Properties, namely Chong Chook Yew (the daughter of a Malayan immigrant tin miner) and Wen Tien Kuang (from Guangdong province in China) secured financing to acquire 1,000 acres of rubber estate located on the outskirts of the capital, Kuala Lumpur. Soon after they drew-up a five-phase master plan for the rubber plantation land and named it “Damansara Heights” after the local Damansara River. Capital was needed to develop the land and hence a publicly listed company, Selangor Properties Berhad, was formed.

From those humble days until now, Selangor Properties has built a reputation based on a resume of developments that speak of architectural leadership, quality of construction, longevity and social relevance. This can be seen in well-known developments such as Menara Millenium, Plaza Batai, The Five, The Stories of Taman Tunku and now, AIRA Residence.
