damansara heights ‘in a class of its own’ in attracting buyers
KUALA LUMPUR: Damansara Heights, which started as a residential scheme for government servants more than two decades ago, has evolved into one of the most popular and exclusive neighbourhoods in Kuala Lumpur.
Selangor Properties Bhd was the first developer to acquire land in the area in the 1960s.
The developer bought 402ha of rubber plantation land to start the Damansara Heights project, which it developed in five phases.
Chief operating officer Chong Koon San said Damansara Heights was in a class of its own in attracting property buyers.
Despite rising property prices and a slowdown in the real estate market, Damansara Heights had remained fairly attractive to a niche market, he said.
Chong said properties in Damansara Heights would never go down in value as the development was strategically located and it was also easily accessible.
Apart from being a sought-after residential address, Damansara Heights also operates as a capital business district.
It is currently home to regulatory bodies and government departments, banks, multinational companies and restaurants.
“The first office building to be established by the company in the area was Wisma Damansara,” said Chong.
Selangor Properties has a new development that is coming up in Damansara Heights called Aira Residence.
“Nestled on 1.21ha at the high point of Jalan Batai, all units at Aira Residence offer residents the best view of the city, which includes the iconic KLCC Twin Towers,” said Chong.
Aira Residence, with only 105 units, offers exclusive living and is the last low-density development within the vicinity of Damansara Heights.
